woah...That missle really does look fast. If Iran chooses to equip it's navy with the torpedo, even small Iranian cutters and patrol craft would be capable of sinking large u.s destroyers, maybe even carriers. I havnt heard of any known defence agaisnt torpedoes except evasive manuvers, which will be hard if the torpedo is this fast.

Two missile tests in one week - this is Iran's way of saying - we will resist sanctions. We're not going to give up our nuclear programme. And I must say, i'm impressed that they're able to build something like this indigenously.
By the way, what kind of FAC was it that launched the missile? And whats the range of this thing? If its short range, that will mean a great danger to the guy who has to fire it.

This new Iranian torpedo is probabaly an improved version of the Russian Shkval rocket-torpedo license-produced in Iran. There must be three points for this torpedo to be truly effective:
1. It must have a long range
2. It must be able to guide itself to the target.
3. It must be deployed in large numbers for them to be truly effective and decisive against the US Navy ships.

One can only imagine what a nuclear blast underwater would do to the surrounding natural environment...
Does anyone know the effects of an underwater nuclear blast? I recall that some nations tested nukes like that before, but maybe I'm wrong.

Its based on russian torpedo so very likely yes it is guided.

Some sources are telling me its a torpedo, others tell me its a missiles. The footage showed a missile. Did they build a missile or a torpedo? Or did they build both?
