That's funny. What are they thinking(Iranians)? Their president is meeting Hu now, and trying to get a membership with China. This new surely won't help.

Chinese Citizen does not necessarily equate with CCP Agent.

These guys could be any of the following:

Chinese Security forces, looking to acquire verification that undertakings given by the Iranians are in fact true.

Dopey tourists unaware that photographing such facilities is regarded as a major crime in Iran.

Chinese Citizens working in the Interest of a Foreign Power and who were judged as having more free movement than other foreigners or simply used as patsy's to try and spoil the SCO Summit (hence the timing of the Incident).

Any expansion on the above would be simple speculation and really far too Political to be allowed on this Board.

Everyone's spying on everyone else. At this very moment I'm guessing the CIA or the NSA is actually monitoring this website and what we say and probably the Chinese government as well. About Chinese spies in Iran...Iran's a volcano about to blow due to its possesion of nuclear material. They could be saying that their programme is to power civilian installations, a few years later they will declare that they have ICBMs so it is necessary to see what the Iranians are up to. I think if the west goes to war with Iran it will pose to be a very sophisticated foe.

Any foreign citizen aboard can be somehow construed as a spy of sorts.

I really wouldn't be surprised if defense departments have agents looking through these forms. When I first started looking through some of these threads I wondered how much knowledge is correct and or unclass.

Well either those agent must have seen this forum as low threat or low importance or they haven't found this forum yet. The fact that I still can read this forum in China means that this forum is of low threat to PRC's national security, which in turn raise a question about the integrity and accuracy of the information in this forum.

What it really means is that the forum has relatively low site-traffic and the ban on general political discussion means that sensitive topics are rarely raised. Websites that are restricted are almost always both popular and discuss "forbidden subjects" without moderation - at least the latter.

This site and CDF are accessible from mainland, afaik. CMF, whoever is not, but that is really a political playhouse with minor sprinklings of new images, hence it is censored.
I doubt here and CDF really pose much of a threat in terms of information leaked. 99.9% of the material on both sites are second hand. The Chinese language sites are the primary sources and they are the ones which are probably heavily watched.
