It was a real nail-biter right down to the very last few corners. Incredible drama with rain, then the track drying out, tyre changes, extra pit stops, then more rain and another change of tyres!

Best of all, the youngest ever man to win a Formula One championship is now Lewis Hamilton (23 years, 8 months and 26 days old). Good job, matey! :D

I'm no F-1 fan. But >>> Congradulations to Mr Lewis.

Did you know about this?

LONDON, England (CNN) -- Thousands of racist messages have been left on a Spanish Web site targeting Formula One championship leader Lewis Hamilton.

Lewis Hamilton is preparing for his title showdown with Felipe Massa at this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix.

Other entries contained obscenities and called for Hamilton to die in his car.

It is the not first time Spanish fans have targeted the Englishman with racist taunts.

During a test at Barcelona earlier in the year some local fans, upset about Hamilton's relationship at McLaren with Spanish hero Fernando Alonso during the 2007 season, expressed their anger in ugly scenes.

The hate campaign against him has re-emerged on a voodoo-style Web site, with a title which translates as "burst Hamilton's tires."

Visitors are asked to place images of pins, nails and porcupines on the Interlagos circuit to prevent F1's first black competitor from finishing the race.

The Web site was launched during last year's supposed fall-out between Hamilton and Alonso, but new messages have been added in recent days as the 23-year-old looks to steal Alonso's record as F1's youngest champion.

Hamilton and Felipe Massa are battling to become this season's world champion at the final race in Brazil on Sunday.

The FIA, motorsport's governing body, had launched an anti-racism initiative on the back of the scenes in Barcelona in February.

An FIA spokesman said: "The FIA's position is very clear: discrimination and prejudice have no place in sport and society. Everybody in our sport will join us in condemning these abusive, hateful comments.

Why is there such bigotry directed in Spain & some other European countries against black athelets? Thanks.

Congratulations to Hamilton ! Now, all he has to do is repeat it six more times & he'll be on par with you know who. :D

Popeye, some Spanish sports team were seen making 'slanty-eye' pose in some photos just prior to the Olympics, probably directed at Asian people. So these kind of things seem not to be too uncommon there. Maybe something in the water over there.

I don't know if it's common, but I think that Spain isn't as multi-cultural/multi-ethnic as places like the UK and US. Some Spanish people I know will say there is a fair amount of racism there.

I would say that Hamilton had bad luck too. Kimi is in a bad situation because Massa can challenge him as the top Ferrari driver. At least Hamilton has a team mate who won't eclipse him (at the moment, anyway).

Congratulations to Hamilton ! Now, all he has to do is repeat it six more times & he'll be on par with you know who.

I'd prefer he not win by ramming his competitors off the field.

Thaks for the answers guys. I find the race situation in Spain weird. Also I know all about the monkey chant in football. Disgusting.

I have been there many times from '72 til '81..I found it a very nice country to visit.
