As a Chinese American, I am sick and tired of hearing negative things in the western media about China; and western sabotage to China, for example, CIA. What makes me angry is hearing that there are westerners in China who are learning Chinese specifically so they can go back to their countries and sabatoge China some more. I do not know how the system works in China, but I would like to learn more about how Chinese Americans can get involved in protecting China's interests. There should be government agencies that require native English speakers to work for them. Does anyone have any information on this? Is China in need of any English speaking advisors that are patriotic? What about intelligence agencies? Police? PLA? Even though I was born and raised in America, brainwashed by their ridiculous nationalism. I have a strong dislike towards USA and I disagree with their foreign policy completely and find it to be terribly unethical. If this world wants some stability, China's rise will accommodate that. Even though my parents are both born in China and 100% han, I am not entitled to Chinese citizenship, but I am non the less a patriotic Chinese.

First of all, careful. This forum does not allow political discussions, and your topic treads on dangerous grounds.

Now, I wouldn't want to get involved with the Chinese government myself, and I consider myself pretty patriotic. Maybe you don't realize how cutthroat the Chinese social dynamic is, especially when it comes to government bureaucracy. Furthermore, it is very unlikely that the Chinese government would be interested in a non-citizen for military-related positions (unless you had unique contributions to make).

That said, there's no reason you need to get involved with the government in order to promote China. You can do it on your own by promoting Chinese values to your friends, or finding some grassroots organization such as the ones that sprung up during the tibetan riots.

Being American Chinese shouldnt stop you from going back to China to live if you so wish. In fact theres a Caucasian in Yunan from N.Z. helping to develop the horticulture industry for export fruit. He's reknown for developing the Chinese "Red Pear" . Hes so respected there that the Chinese have given him a Chinese name. If you are unable to join the Chinese military for nationality reasons I believe Chinas always in the market for spies so I suppose that rates as "Intelligence".:D

IMO the best way to promote a better image is to break down the language barrier. Chinese media always provide some of the worst Chinese to English translation, while Western media always employ some of the worst Chinese translators. For example, It maybe a small misunderstanding that "Jun" is translated into a "Army", but when the same horrible translation is used to prove that Chinese government is evil because it is callous towards its own serviceman, or that navy and air force is not important in Chinese military history is completely stupid.

And don't get me started on outdated/Cold War phobic translations such as Propaganda/Xuan Chuan, Nationalism/Ai Guo Zhu Yi, Motherland/Zhou Guo, Commissar/Zheng Wei, Han Chinese/Han Ren etc. As a linguist would say, language control thoughts, so break down the damn language barrier.

CIA might be watching you.

Not unless he wants to commit actual harm against his own nation. "Angry" Americans are a dime a dozen, and the CIA couldn't care less about them.

To answer the original question, the Chinese government has masses of English-speaking people who will help them spread propaganda, both Han and Caucasian. Flare, I suggest you get a real job in the USA. As much as you might dislike it, at the very least you have the freedom to disagree with it and write the comment that you did. If you were a Chinese citizen you wouldn't be able to make the corresponding comment on a Chinese forum and have it stand.

Not CIA, Maybe Homeland Security or FBI?

Flare should learn to get over it. The Chinese are just one of a long line of Immigrant groups who have either been persecuted or had their homeland demonized

Such nationalist chest thumping and anti-any country bashing is not permitted in this forum. And nor is the political flavor of this thread. It's though you are inviting others to bash the US. I won't let any country bashing happen to any nation.

And FLARE..your ass is banned from this forum forever.
