Futuristic weaponry

I don't know if there is a thread that deals with this topic, but i was speculating whether Chinas technology ability had reached the level where it could indulge in the mechanics of future weapon systems, u know , how the Germans played around with concepts, which were developed further by the allies. eg. the gun for shooting around corners, the flying wing, 2 me109s joined together etc etc.

In this case I was speculating on a attack craft breaking out into outer space to attack satellites flying out of reach from ground base satellite weapons or launching space ground weapons.

The Basic technology cant be too far away to be able 2to achieve this since Branso is offereing short trips into space.
Can anyone else think of weapon systems that are doable but havent seen the light of day yet. I dont mean for you go into flights of pure fancy that you see in Sci Fi Films, but how likely are we to develop a propulsion system that lets us travel faster than we can do at the moment:

Related to this topic, does anyone have information on whether China has researched the following technologies?

Electromagnetic rail gun
Sonic weapons (either non-lethal or lethal)
Microwave weapons (same as above)
Lasers (for damage not dazzling)

This is an interesting one... I do not believe we will see these around too soon, they are costly and plagued with practical issues.
The only one I find feasible based on the research done and the known military implications for a lethal response is the Gauss Gun (rail) yet this is also limited by its sheer size and technical issues with any real implication. Sonic weapons are too unpredictable for most situations, however, using a shockwave has a crippling effect on a riot crowd. Both the laser and the microwave may look like future weapons but are swamped with logistic issues:

1. Consume insane amounts of energy.
2. Possible shielding
3. Control/projection
4. Radiation/unreliable
5. Consumes TONS of energy!!!!

I see these as more bark than bite. There is non-lethal pop control potential but don't expect to see Buck Rogers atomizing your neighbor anytime soon.
