Shouldn't they call "ex-president" or "former president"? There should be only one president at a time, the one in office.

I didn't make the rules. Even today on CNN. They interview Biden. And he was complaining that traditionally U.S. government still provide government information (including sensitive information) to 'ex-presidents'.

And all ex-presidents still get full protection. So I guess they are still president. But obviously they don't have the power of the incumbent president.

Apparently, it's up to the media/person on how to address the ex-president. It's more respectful to address an ex-president as President so and so. But if you wish to be nasty, you could specifically address the ex-president as the "Ex-President" like CNN just did when referring to Trump. :p
