In summary, the reporters actually were on the ground and went around doing field work, asking questions.

They did not discover any real answers, but saw some stuff.

They saw something that appears to be real, but do not know what that is. That does not really rise beyond the level of rumour. Although some rumours do turn out to be true.

Still, I found the article funny.

I’m surprised China hasn’t taken advantage of the western liberal’s desire for non-Christian spirituality with decolonialist TCM/Daoist communist university degrees. Have them hosted by 3rd tier Chinese universities and draw in all the paganists.
