Free stuff for vets!!! TODAY only

I know it's late in the day and probably wrong thread (sorry I don't have permission to post in 'announcements) BUT vets and active duty US personnel get free food and stuff at a LOT of places across the country today!
I went to Chlli's, Red Robin, Texas Roadhouse and Bar Louie today and all FREE! (tip generously though) All you have to do is show your vet card, your military ID or DD-214.
Just got back from Waterway carwash for a free carwash and 10c off gas!
I heard my buddy getting free meals at Olive Garden and AppleBees!!
yeah I know...we're cheap bastards!
Yaay! and it's good to see all this businesses paying tribute to all the good men and women who served!!!

Thanks guys! I have no time to get any freebies today and I really don't like doing that. But I'm sure some of the older vets in Iowa got more than one free meal today.

Oh hell, make the corporations pay for the good press they get next time (all major chains right?). They are just paying for marketing in a round about way and I'm sure the waitresses and waiters would appreciate a day with good tips.

BZ for the recognition of American War Veterans & best wishes to them. Throughout the UK, "Rememberance Sunday Day" is celebrated today. "Poppies" have been sold (and worn) by the public during late Oct/November. Money collected are for the British Veterans. Where there are British & Commonwealth War Graves, a solemn "Remembrance Day" Ceremony takes place. On this Sunday morning @ sunrise in Singapore, British & Commonwealth (inc. Singapore) Veterans assemble at Kranji War Memorial to honour the dead . Prayers will be offered by muliti-religious priests & leaders. WE SHALL REMEMBER THEM".
