My grandfather was a US Army World War II veteran and when I mention it to anyone, on more than a few occasions some first think he was a soldier for the Japanese Empire even though I said he was US Army. And sometimes I'll mention he's buried in a US veteran's cemetary and some will still be confused about how a soldier of the Japanese Empire is buried in a US veteran's cemetary.

My Grandfather was also a veteran in the US Army in WWII. For me most people forget that Chinese Americans served in the the US military during WWII. Most people in the US seem to think that Asians only started coming to the US in the 70's. Even though they've been coming to the US before and since the American Civil War.

No you can't the 442, 100th Battalion and MIS bravely fought and died in large numbers, while their relatives were taunted back at the concentration camps by the no-no boys faction. These warriors faced extreme prejudice in their fight to prove their loyalty and patriotism. In many ways their sacrifice for Asian Americans prevented the same fate for the Chinese populace in the US post CCP.
