HELSINKI, Finland (AP) -- A novel whose narrative consists entirely of mobile phone text messages has been published in Finland.

"The Last Messages" tells the story of a fictitious information-technology executive in Finland who resigns from his job and travels throughout Europe and India, keeping in touch with his friends and relatives only through text messages.

His messages, and the replies -- roughly 1,000 altogether -- are listed in chronological order in the 332-page novel written by Finnish author Hannu Luntiala.

The texts are rife with grammatical errors and abbreviations commonly used in regular SMS traffic.

"I believe that, at the end of the day, a text message may reveal much more about a person than you would initially think," said Luntiala, who also is head of a company that keeps databases on people living in Finland.

I think this is actually very cool. I've always had a soft spots for fictitious journals especially if they're believable - and with the rise of this sort of communication, it's all the more plausible. (The probability of a slice of someone's life being told through text messages, that is)

A thing that you could expect form us, as we practically invented the text messages (or at least where the first ones to adopt them in winder use). They fit so well to our fear of verbal communication

What impresses me the most of this thread is the word "HELSINKI". You know that Helsinki has been one of my favorite Finland football team, along with Tampere, Haka and Honka. But they are all in rest now, not sure when they will start the season again.

Well Helsinki is the name of our capital. You propaply mean HJK (Helsingin jalkapallo klubi =Helsinki football club). Tampere is the third largest city of ours. And if you wonder why they are rest now, imagine you playing soccer -20 degree celsious;)
