Difference between Type-81 rifle and AK-47

In some other forums, some said that Type-81 rifle is considered to be one of the most advanced AK-47 variants in the world. This triggers a thought about this: what are the main differences between Type-81 rifle and AK-47?

The main difference is in the receiver, as the Type 81 uses a combination of AK and SKS features, along with ergonomic improvements such as bolt-hold open when empty and a safety-fire selector like the HK G3 and M-16 just above the trigger.

1 small Q that I can't seem to get an answer on: Anyone knows if Type 81 mags are compatible with AK mags?

This seem answers your question:

There are three types of magazines: the 30-round box magazine for the standard rifle, the 75-round drum for the light machine gun and the odd 20-round special-purpose mag. The 30-rounder seems to be similar to the regular AK mag, but it's slightly wider and will not fit into an AK. Kalashnikov mags are not compatible with the 81. The 75-round drum was originally designed for another earlier cancelled project, the Type 74 light machine gun. Internally, the drum resembles a mixture of the designs found in the Thompson and PPSh-41.
