On January 13th, Mydrivers reported that, according to CCTV News, the world's first 20-megawatt offshore wind turbine was successfully installed in the waters off Fujian Province. This marks the first time a 20-megawatt offshore wind turbine has been installed at sea in my country, signifying a major breakthrough in the research, development, manufacturing, and offshore construction of ultra-large capacity wind turbines.

It is understood that this 20-megawatt unit is part of a national key research and development program and has been included in the National Energy Administration's list of the first (set) of major technical equipment.

The generating unit has achieved 100% domestic production of key components and made breakthroughs in lightweight design, reducing the weight per megawatt by more than 20% compared to the industry average, effectively lowering the difficulty of hoisting and construction and the cost of foundation building.

After grid connection, the unit is expected to generate over 80 million kilowatt-hours annually, enough to meet the electricity needs of approximately 44,000 households for one year, equivalent to saving about 24,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 64,000 tons.

For context, doesn't the US system of "sales tax", rather than VAT, yield a 0% tax on export?

Which makes talk about VAT rebates as "subsidies" quite bizarre.
Yes, almost all countries with VAT refund VAT on exported goods. This is a fundamental principle of international trade designed to ensure tax neutrality, known as the destination principle.

CETC delivered China's first large capacity PECVD multi-wafer edge passivation equipment. This equipment provides core support for the large-scale application of multi-wafer BC and heterojunction solar cells, injecting strong momentum into the mass production of high-efficiency photovoltaic modules.

First time that both China and India have registered coal decline simultaneously.

Maybe you have seen this chart already, but there is a critical point to make here.

China's electricity demand grew by a robust 5% YoY. In India, it barely grew at all (under 1%). So China's year was very healthy whereas India was an outlier. Partly mild weather, but Indian industry has also been slack in recent times.

The big question is if this drop can be sustained. I am more sanguine about China than India, but let's see.
