I think it was a retired military official who brought this up? How much power do they have over acquisition?
Either way it is a great last mile counter against loitering munition/suicide drones. It is a gap that needs to be filled.
It's reported that the laser weapon LY-1 equipped on the 071 dock landing ship "Siming Shan" is the first time in official reports, which shows that it is covered by a shell.
