The new aircraft plant at Ulyanovsk certainly does look very impressive and well organised and tooled. I suppose it is this complex: 54 17 09 N 48 12 17 E (they have not yet built a taxiway to the airfield, though!).

Regarding the latest unveilings of the J-15, the Liaoning, the J-20 (maybe 2003), the J-31 .... when can we expect to see the first images of the Y-20 ??? I think that "thing" is too large to be hidden completely once being rolled out even id images from Xian-Yanglian and the CFTE are quite rare.

Which facility will the Y-20 prototype(s) likely to be constructed at? As mentioned, it is (expected) to be quite large; possibly going to be the largest plane the Chinese have designed and build thus far (if report is correct).

In the J-20 thread, Player 99 copied and pasted some QQ convo between big shrimps who said that the Y-20`s first test flight was imminent. Not sure how much longer I can still wait as the PLA could really really use more air lift ability ...

i would be very excited to see Y-20 appear, probably more than J-31!!

personally i think Y-20 will mark a milestone in Chinas aviation progress, there isnt many countrys that can produce large heavy military cargo lifters

it will be one more of those qauntum steps which China has made many of, all the years of work and investment and know we are starting to see results

if Y-20 is as big, advanced and modern as i think i would put it up there along with Laioning sailing

yeah, Y-20 is more bigger imo than some of these sexier projects. You really can do so much with a large transport platform like tanker, special missions platform, ABL platform. They just don't have that right now with all the older IL-76 platforms and the 2nd hand IL-76 they got.
