Is this C-17 from Australia or the UAE ??? ... it seems as if the AF-titles are painted over ?

yea can't really tell which country's air force this c-17 belongs to since like you said the AF-titles are painted over, but i heard rumors saying that is from the US? i HIGHLY doubted though...

I think we really need a side by side comparison of the c-17 and y-20, but for the mean time, i think this will do.

Okay so I did me a little digging.
The C17 belongs to.... Al Fursan. Who? The UEA Flight demo team who are on this years list. They use it to transport spare parts maintenance crews and other goodies they need to pull of there stunt show.

You can see how the C-17 engines really show up the skinniness of the Y-20's. Y-20 needs decent engines to do it justice.

The Y-20 has been flying for almost 2 years now. There are 3 known prototypes. If we presume that the first production planes will be using the Russian D-30 engines and the WS-20 engines is still several years away. I suppose the Y-20 project has more resources than the ARJ-21 and that some of the lessons of the ARJ-21 has been past on to the Y-20 project. How long do you think it will take before mass production can begin ?
