Man, She is beautiful!

If she is going to use big Chinese engines, she is going to be something.

Yes, she is A.Man, and I'm sure my Daddy would have enjoyed flying her, the only airplane I ever heard him kinda wish he could fly was the Lockheed C-141 Starlifter, which bears a strong resemblance to the Y-20, this is a very pretty airplane, IMHO quite a bit prettier than the C-17, though I have to bite my tongue. My Dad loved the C-130, he transitioned into the A Model around the time I was born, in 56 or 57, out of the old Fairchild C-119. Once he got turbines he never looked back, although he was propositioned to fly the B-52, he simply didn't like the airplane or the mission. He did love to teach and enjoyed transitioning his students into the C-130.

I really like the zinc chromate painted Y-20 that Deino posted, its much easier to note her features, and you are bang on, this is a much prettier airplane, these Chinese birds are lookers. and I do love pretty airplanes...

Quickie

Colonel
Why do You think so or better to ask, what else could it be ???

IMO it looks like someting of a static test airframe, an iron-bird but in fact not a real flying prototype ... but IMO surely related to the Y-20.

Deino

Why do You think so...

Mainly, the right angled joint where the wing is attached to the fuselage. In the Y-20, the joint area slopes down.

Isn't it ironic that as one production line closes for the C17 Globemaster another line is in the making for the Y-20

Yes it is ironic!

C-17 Globemaster III is an outstanding military cargo aircraft. From what I have read along the years about it, it's performance is unmatched due the excellent serviceability rate. No wonder the Pentagon ordered so many of them, as it balanced off the poor serviceability record of the C-5 Galaxy and the lower load capacity of the C-130 Hercs.
