If it is not an old video showing the first one '20001' it seems so ... !

Yes, I've heard that too ... but IMO I don't think so since they don't want to use a new and so far unproven engine on an also itself untested aircraft.

IMO XAC will concentrate to log at first as many flight-hours as possible with a common configuration and then change one, two or later all four engines.

looks like the photographer was on a high vehicle like a bus or above a pickup truck and took with his camera phone. He is clearly above the perimeter wall. Kudos to people like him so folks like us can see what's behind those walls.

I guess it would be too much to ask him to lay a tall ladder against the wall and take pictures with a high powered SLR and long range lens. :D
He will likely be invited inside for tea and cupcakes.

Depends on when exactly that picture was taken. Are we talking in the past couple months or from last year?

I agree. This picture doesnt say much by itself. We dont see the number on the aircraft. We dont know when it was taken.

The plane sports the original colour of the first prototype. Could be an old photo of that first plane.

And as pointed out on CDF, the original unpainted Y-20 had a white nose, this one is grey...

Boeing has 22 x C17 to build by 2015 of which 7 are for the Indian air force of 10 order and 2 for Kuwait

The other 13 will be built for potential customers including India who could order another 6 units but after that the production line closes

C17 run will shut in 2015 just as Y-20 is gearing up, ironic as one heavy lifter production ends another is about to start
