you are acting as if a bomber is somehow "lesser" of an aircraft which I have never seen anyone imply

Why can't we just call it multirole and leave it at that? This whole bomber talk is pointless semantics at best and an attempt at actively derailing a flagship thread at worst.

We should focus on the real important capabilities, such as the ability to fire unguided rockets from rocket pods.

These are not new images, and have been posted previously.

There's no reason to think they're relevant to J-36 or this thread, considering we know what J-36 looks like and neither of those RCS models resemble it.

I know this is a cliché but I want to clarify once again that 36011 does not mean it's the 11th prototype.

If we take the J-20 as an example, 2001 to 2004 are engineering verification aircraft, 2011 to 2017 are prototypes, and 2101 is a mass-produced model. In fact, AVIC CADI records count 2001 and 2011 as two first flights. 36011 does not mean that there are 10 engineering verification aircraft/prototypes between 36001-36010, they may not even exist.

Just some X-plane, they may be related to GJ-11 and MD-21, or some undisclosed projects, or they may be pure technology verification aircraft. We should be aware of the scale of the PLA, not all testers of tailless/flying wing layouts are related to J-36

Honestly, just had a realization - Looking back, Yankee has actually been hinting us of the J-36 all the way back in August 2023. He definitely knew what's about to come out.

It just so happens that all of us didn't know any better and still believed that he's hinting on the JH-XX - All while the PLAAF has already completely moved away from that category.
