Can anyone identify whose soldiers?

I got these pics from another forum in a Vietnamese thread. Some are claiming they're Vietnamese soldiers but by the latest weapons they possess... they're Chinese arms. Correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I know Vietnam does not buy Chinese. Clearly the Chinese flag patch in two of the pics is PSed and that got them rabid over on that thread. But I don't believe they're Vietnamese soldiers. In fact it looks like a movie set. In that case... what movie? Thanks.

The last picture is a scene from Soldier's Sortie. The second to the last picture shows the main character from that series. I am not entirely sure about the first three but I believe that those are also from that same series.

Judging from their uniform and weapon and even the truck from the back ground. They're all Chinese. I don't believe any of these is Vietnamese. As we all know the Chinese force has not been in any major confict in the world for quite a long time, or at least since the type-95 was introduced. So, the scences might be in some sort of exercise or, like you said, a movie. But what movie? Well, I don't know.

PS: Can you tell me what forum you got these from?

I noticed one thing, the guns seem to be type-97 rather the 95. Does PLA use type-97?

It's over at They're either way too dumb in there or they're children. It's obvious they don't what they're talking about. It's some thread about Vietnam's military capabilities. Right now some American is in there having fun shaking the barrel full of rattlesnakes.

I looked into the forum and found that the first poster of the pix didn't suggest that those are Vietnamese soldiers, in stead, he suggested Vietnam should purchase Chinese equipment and weapon. And you'll find that the Vietnamese posters there are quite hostile to China if you read their posts in Vietnamese...

Not surprsing. You'll find others there with the same petty little nationalistic sentiments. Many have been banned in that forum for that very reason.

I think I've seen that guy in a movie before with Andy Lau; "A World Without Thieves." His name is Wang Baoqiang (王宝强).

5 mins of searching Google unearthed another scene from the show "Soldier's Sortie":

The lighting and background is exactly the same as one of the pics.

All of them are actors in the TV series. None of them are real soldiers.
