Better military resource website: What would it take?

Sinodefence is by far the best non-US/Nato focused military website on the net IMO. Somehow the site avoids the stupid political crap that otherwise goes with the topic.

Try finding an equivalent source on Iranian military, or North Korean military. I say these countries because they are 'interesting' to many military enthusiasts but not will documented. Global Security and FAS tend to be very out of date. Wikipedia is a great resource but it's a bit hit and miss.

What would it take to set up a 'sister' site of Sinodefence but covering a multitude of other controversial countries in an objective fashion?

Maybe:
Iran
North Korea
Syria
Finland

As first wave - although why not allow any country to be added provided a suitably mature, knowledgeable and objective contributor volunteers. I imagine India, Pakistan and Greece would all have interested parties.

I know nothing about web hosting, google advertising etc. Is this feasible and would anyone want to help me get it off the ground? Would any existing site be interested in sub-hosting?

I asked Dongfeng the question about making military sites of other countries, and I'm looking forward to one that's as comprehensive as Sinodefence on the U.S. military, as it is one of the most important militaries in the world. Dongfeng said he does not have the time right now as Sinodefence is taking much of his resources, but he is interested in making sites on the Japan or Taiwan militaries. There is a lot of information out there on the U.S. military, but they are sort of disorganized and not as comprehensive and easy to follow as Sinodefence.

Globalsecurity.org is an excellent resource on US military and most equipment has good write ups on Wikipedia.

There are good sources, but they are hard to follow and not as organized as Sinodefence. It'll be better if they have more accompanying pictures as well.

I would have to agree with planeman that globalsecurity.org gives some very unbiased info on the US Military.

The US DoD websites offer good basic info but not any evaluation of the equipment with literally thousands of up-to-date pictures.

Obviously a very long way to go but every journey starts with a single step

For only five minutes worth of work, it already looks to be off to a good start Planeman. It'll be top notch before you know it.
