I'm not sure how to describe it. It's just very, very enjoyable to watch. Great special effects, good acting, decent plot - I hope they don't lose their touch! :)

The series is very nice. I really like the politics, and the fighter scenes are awesome. Though I have not been catching up on the series as much as I would like.

I've watched just about every episode of the new BSG. I think this is one of very few "remakes" where fans of the original are happy with the new product.

IMO changing the characters and re-imagining the original series was a risky move, but it paid off big time for the Sci-Fi channel.

The only down-side is that they had to use so much sex from Tricia Helfer and Grace Park to motivate our, um, modern couch slug-like audience. To be fair, other sci-fi shows do the same. ST: Voyager had Jeri Ryan, ST: Enterprise started off showing lots of skin from Jolene Blalock, Lexx had Eva Habermann & Xenia Seeberg, and so on.

Episode titled Exodus Part 2 should go down in Sci Fi TV history as one of the most defining moments ever.

show

Absolutely. It was an excellent idea and pulled off perfectly.

To bad peggy bought it though.

Actually they were being true to the original series, because in that the Pegasus gets destroyed in a suicidal effort to take a group of Cylon basestars down.

It's also useful in justifying keeping Galactica fully stocked with Vipers and Raptors, because after all the battles fought you'd expect both battlestars to have lost quite a few of each.

"Fleeing the Cylon tyranny the last Battlestar, Gallactica, leads a rag tag fugitive fleet to a lost planet known as Earth" Or words to that effect...:p

I wish I had Sci-Fi on my cable. I have seen BSG a few times. And really enjoyed it. Not recently however.

Humm?? To me that is a bad thing. There was not much sex in the original series. Why put it in here? Because "no-sex having couch potatoes" watch the show. And it is a bit of porn for teen age boys...

I love how they project what space combat would be like in space.

But what I still don't get is why are there no BVR weapons in fighter to fighter combat.
