An astronomical event: Two moons on 27 August 2008

I don't if it's right to open a thread like this. I receive a mail from a friend this morning, and I believe that she received it from her other friends who also received from their friends too. The message said that there will be two moons on the 27th Aug 2008. Which if true would be a great event.

Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August.

It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will Cultivate on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles off earth. Be Sure to watch the sky on Aug 27 12:30 am. (IST-Indian Standard Time) It will look like the earth has 2 moons.
The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.

In the age of Internet, such a message can turn out to be a hoax up to 80%. But should this is a true event, nobody wants to miss it. So, experts, please verify either this is a true event.

If I am not mistaken, that happened a few years back. The next coming approach may not be as close as the previous one. BTW, don't expect to see a second moon!

Hm...if this is true I should take a look at the sky.....XD

Keep your eye open, cuz mars will be very small for the naked eye even if it is a bright as the sun.

I've been searching the Internet for this event and I found that even the Mars comes closest to the earth, there is no way to see it as big as the Moon. So, to conclude, this is a hoax. I even found that this message shows up almost once a year. Just wondering why people create such a fake message and spread around on the Internet, I don't think they can earn from it.

It's a hoax. I heard it on the radio. The email get spread every year about Mars etc but it never happens.
