I bought this new, excellent metal 1/72 dcale H-6K. There is no model build kit, so I bought this prebuilt metal bomber from China when I sa an excellent deal on ebay for about half price. This aircraft is EXCELLENT.

Retractable landing gear. Operational aireolons, rudder, and horizontal stabilizer controls. Six pylons with excellent precision guided weaponry and ALCM for all. Operational bombay.

Very well detailed cockpit. The wheels turn on the gear.

Simply an excellent job by this Chinese firm.

The H-6K is an all new, modernized and new build H-6, which is the Chinese liense built SU-16, which the Soviet Union sold the Chinese in the 60s and then they license built into th 80s.

The Chinese envisioned and now are building the new aircraft with an all new electronic and computer controlled glass cockpit, new composite material making the aircraft lighter and stronger, new engines, new avionics and flight controls, new radar, and six under wing pylons to house six air launched cruise missiles or other precision guided ordinance.

An excellent use of an older design, updated for modern use.

Could you just put them side by side? I've never seen a size comparison.

In the video above, here:

I show them together towards the end of the video. Here are a couple of additional pics of them togeher in 1/350 scale:

One of the things I spoke of during the video was the comparison in load out. The B-53 carries 6 missiles on each pylon X 2, then another eight in the internal bay, or 20 AGM-86B/C/DALCM altogether. And these are very long range missiles, up to 1,500 miles. The warhead for the various missiles are:

AGM-86B, nuclear capable
AGM-86C: Block 0, 2,000 pound class, and Block I , 3,000 pound class
AGM-86D, advance unitary penetrating warhead, 1,200 pound class

The H-6K of course can carry up to six various missiles. Their range is considerably shorter as I understand it, and six versus 20 is also a significant differnce.

Having said that, a force of 20 H-6Ks, carrying anywhere from 80 to 120 missiles, would be a very significant force for any one, and especially any naval task force to contend with if they were to get in range and launch their missiles before being intercepted. In this sense, the H-K6 is a very significant and capable system for the PRC.
