nice, I remember when this first came out, good to see it's already getting application.
Zelramic-iBN SiC fiber can withstand 1800C temp, much higher than any superalloy. Already tested by AECC
SiC fiber is also one of the few materials for high-temp high-oxidation EM (X/Ku band) wave absorption. All three SiC fiber makers in China produce special types for this purpose.nice, I remember when this first came out, good to see it's already getting application.
Also, notice the mention of HGV in there. Quite a lot of high end applications for this stuff.

Why tho, what plane would use it? F35 engines are pretty big. Maybe for flankers?View attachment 177036
Some interesting rumors about a F-135 like engine under development from SOYO. Allegedly this project seems to have been allocated quite a bit if resources with specifications similar to the latest F-135 variant but apparently no mention of STOVL system. He speculates this engine could at worst be somewhat comparable to the latest F-135 in performance while not ruling out more advanced designs like VCE.
Normal warnings apply as usual with these rumors.
Though, we've seen quite a bit of open source info on something like this in the past year, most have been pointing to some kind of STOVL design. Nevertheless further info is required to confirm this.
J-16 production have stopped. its basically STOVL Engine and why would flanker required this type of heavy Engine. so Nope. if they are really developing STOVL engine then it is definitely for Short Take-Off and Vertical Landing special aircraft like F-35B.Why tho, what plane would use it? Wait when did j 16 production stopped? Really thought they would keep producing until 2030.J-16 production have stopped. its basically STOVL Engine and why would flanker required this type of heavy Engine. so Nope. if they are really developing STOVL engine then it is definitely for Short Take-Off and Vertical Landing special aircraft like F-35B.
and if this is not STOVL then this is VCE Engine for next generation tailless aircrafts.

Bypass ratio/optimization for speed/altitude envelope is very different though. An "F135-class" engine already does sort of exist, it's called the WS-15. So this is either a STOVL engine or a potential VCE
