US toolmakers flooded China semiconductor manufacturing facilities with their tools reaching monopolistic positions. US EDA companies become dominant players in China design houses. AND ALL THE SUDDEN China dependency on US tech becomes a "national security" problem.
Most US tech companies come from blue states and most high tech workers are Democrats.
The most ardent supporters for stringent high tech exports controls come from GOP politicians from states which most of their GDP comes from Gas, Oil and Agricultural products. When China put tariff on US farm products this senators where the first ones to beg Trump to reach a deal and in the other side is incredible how pathetic, cucked and weak the Democrats are that cannot even defend the jobs of the people who vote for them, they seem that they just coward into a fetal position when a GOP politician just mention China.
