Many Chinese companies and wealthy Chinese need to ask themselves if they wanted to keep parking their money at Western institutions. Sooner rather than later, the West would confiscate their monies especially there are so many idiotic politicians that have total no regard of abusing Western donminated financial system.

Yellen is playing the China card to get the money printers back online. Maybe they should try compromising and negotations instead of blaming China.

China would be among first paid under GOP debt limit plan, Treasury Secretary Yellen says

WASHINGTON — Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said Thursday that China would be among the first in line to get paid under a Republican proposal to prioritize some U.S. debt obligations over others, calling it a “dangerous idea” that would technically cause the U.S. to default on its bonds.

“If Treasury follows this Republican plan, bearing in mind that China holds about $1 trillion in U.S. debt, who would get paid first?” asked Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio.

Figures obtained by the Guardian reveal that a record 1,104 scientists and postgraduate students were rejected by Foreign Office vetting in 2022, up from 128 in 2020 and just 13 in 2016. Scientists say the scheme is leaving universities struggling to recruit the best talent from abroad.

Five Chinese scientists at Imperial college, who did not pass clearance despite having already held positions at UK universities for several years – may have to leave the UK as a result. Last year in July, a report emerged that 50 Chinese students have left the UK in the past three years.

Charles Parton, a China expert at the Royal United Services Institute (Rusi), said that a tightening of security was “encouraging”.
