Your explanation would makes sense if they only have those labs in Ukraine, but no, 300 plus all over the world.....

otoh, it can be argued that they don't want to transport dangerous samples over long distances
Watch the Russian UNSC briefing if you haven't. None of the pathogens that Russia is claiming Americans were developing are endemic to the Ukraine. In fact localised epidemics of diseases in the vicinity of the labs are what brought Russian attention to it, they claim they've been monitoring it since 2014.

Of course, this could all just be Russian disinformation and the labs have no military purpose. In that case America will have no problem having them investigated by an independent international body. Or they could also answer some of the specific allegations, such as were US military personnel ever assigned to these labs, and if so, why? Or whether there was a link between the pathogens being stored in the labs and outbreaks in Ukraine? That could even be done domestically in the setting of something like a Senate committee. It would be easy debunking of Russian propaganda and would restore some American credibility both to their own people and internationally. But they won't.

As the saying goes, it takes a thief to catch a thief. The Russians have a biological weapons programme of their own and know exactly what to look for and what to ask.

@Mohsin77 bro the Russian copy the Mongols strategy with a twist, they did it humanely, the Mongols of old will ransack and kill those who oppose them while the Russian of today create a corridor for them to leave. ;)

Not exactly.

What the Mongols do is they give offers for certain groups and peoples to betray their coalitions such as with rewards and promise of mercy, then allow these people to escape through corridors. Once the main coalition was defeated, the Mongols would trap the betrayers in these corridors, then massacre them.

Yeah, Ukraine probably only had 1 small team there. If they had x7 and properly positioned, they could have annihilated that Russian advance there.

Cool video though
It doesn't work like that though. It's easier to hide one ATGM team, but to hide seven is much harder. If you get spotted first Russians will start feeding them 122mm artillery rounds.

Its easier to get spotted, but the payoff is much bigger. It is always a risk-benefit calculation

Either way, Ukrainians got a win there. They traded a free anti-tank weapon and (2-3) people for taking out 1 Russian unit.. do this x100 and Russia will eventually feel the pain. It depends on how many people they have trained for doing an ambush
