China and the Trump administration are literal counterexamples to the single party suggestion: the former is extremely efficient and rectifies errors quickly while the latter, which was filled with yes-men, rose to power via a multi-party system. No system is immune to yes-men.

Trump was still hindered and shackled by the system, and than even thought US president has a lot more power than most other democracies/republics, Trump never had similar powers as Xi or Putin. I don't know what kinda people Xi has on his inner circle but hopefully not 100% ass kissers like Putin apparently has.

He should have learnt from the Soviet Union. Whenever one ethnic group would rebel, he would send in that groups enemy to quell them. Azeris against Armenians, Czech against Hungarians and so on. That way soldiers are motivated to actually fight.

Some of the videos being posted make this whole conflict look like a joke. Civilians and soldiers joking with each other...WTF. You're supposed to be at war.

The only fighting that seems to be taking place is in the eastern front where all the neo-nazis are stationed. Time to send in the Chechens and get this over with.

One of the most bizarre war and tactics i've ever seen... makes Russian military look like an a joke. I bet many ex-soviet states will become even more hostile.

The Ukrainian troops that are dug in on the Donbass front (~45,000 allegedly?) will have to retreat in an orderly fashion, or they will be easy pickings for airstrikes. Or they can chose to stay and fight until they run out of ammunition/fuel, because they'll be encircled.

The last 2 times the PLA traded shots was not with USA or Japan but with their ideological companions in VietNam and USSR. Just be aware of that before you join the Putinista cheering squad. Global politics can change on a dime and for all you know PLA will be fighting Russia with USA support next month. Unlikely - but not impossible.
You do realize that these is a major historical event in China called the "Sino-Soviet Split", right? We in China, are all very fully educated about "中苏交恶", we've been calling them "苏修" for decades until 1991.

Are you telling me that your history books never taught you that event!!!?!? Wow, what blatant censorship! Your educations system must have been full of Fifth Columnist who's been working night and day for decades to try to paint the picture of a "big communist international family with unyielding and unbreakable Unity". You guys better join Trump and clean up your own room first.

Well, sorry to disappoint you, we Chinese people aren't that gullible. Go and fool your gullible Eastern Europeans and middle eastern with your big ruskie boogieman. We Chinese has been cool minded from the start: we choose and we act ONLY according to our own concrete national interests. That's why we went to war in Korea, that's why we split away with the Soviets since Khrushchev. That's why we pursued nuclear and thermal nuclear weapons, that's why we went to war with India and Vietnam. All of these are for cold-calculated national interests.

The big bear boogieman of a Russian bear might scare your gullible, short sighted Eastern Europeans weaklings. But for us Chinese, we only see clumsiness and a lack of understanding of history.

By the way, let me tell you one more little secret: the real Sino-Soviet Split actually started in Zunyi Conference (遵义会议) in 1935. Because our Mao Zedong is first and foremost a Chinese. Marx is just knowledge and a tool to the Chinese. The soul of the Chinese is 尚书、春秋、史记、资治通鉴,etc. Of course, these are as foreign and unreachable to you as a Martian.

People are also overlooking the fact that the Pentagon's original estimate of a 48 hour Russian victory required a minimum of 50,000 Ukrainian civilians dead. But it had become super clear on Day 2 that Russia had not selected this bloody solution. This actually made the US media awkward, because they had to admit that the Russians are trying to avoid civilian casualties.

Lest we forget, Russia could have levelled Kiev on Day 2. There was nothing stopping it from sending in its Strategic Bomber Fleet. And despite some people claiming that would have been the "optimal" solution (those people need professional help and medication) what Russia has opted for is a methodical advance and not rushing to take and destroy cities, and this obviously takes longer. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, and I thank God Russia chose this option, rather than killing untold numbers of civilians. If Russia had started doing that, I would not be supporting Russia here.

Now, by Day 4, Russian forces have surrounded Kiev (the mayor confirmed this.) It's Northern supply lines have been secured. Their convoys are strolling in to their waypoints without even worrying about ambushes. Ukraine's Eastern and Southern flanks are collapsing, and the Ukrainian leadership has agreed to drop its preconditions and decided to come to the table... and yet people are still complaining that it's too "slow." Well this isn't a frekkin video game or a netflix show you can binge watch.
