So if Russia's action was better executed, there would not have been western sanctions? How could that be possible?
4 day or even a month is not good measure for out come.
see this history of Tajikistan war and that was practically without any Airpower support and much difficult terrain. ultimately Russia managed to cleaned up.

At the height of the conflict there were around 25,000 Russian troops — 17,000 border guards and 8,000 peacekeepers — in Tajikistan.
. It was not unusual for more than 25 Russian border guards to be killed in a single raid. Sometimes the dead were decapitated. One Russian border guard told the Washington Post, “This is a pretty serious enemy. They’re pretty well armed, well disciplined, well trained...That’s why the battles with them are so fierce.”

Thanks to the perception that Russian Army performs below expectation I saw some hot takes that if battle hardened Russian army doesn't steamroll to Kiev, then inexperienced PLA won't ever win on Taiwan.
Predictable. Russia will most likely achieve a pyrrhic victory. One of the side effects of this poorer than expected performance is it will psychologically boost both the Washington elites and regular Americans to physically take on China on the Taiwan issue even more. They will falsely equal the Chinese military doctrine, training, equipment as copies of Russia and can't possibly win in a ambitious Taiwan campaign, and a chance to halt the "rebellion" against the current world order once and for all.

So, in a revised, and humbler, response to this (now that I know you’re not what I’d assumed you were), weather patterns may limit fallout and the worst nuclear winter patterns to the northern hemisphere, above the tropics. So, those living south of the Tropic of Cancer will have a better chance of survival.

So, head on down to Sanya!
Dude, Sanya has a major PLAN naval base and air base. It's definitely getting nuked in a war.

So basically Putin launched an assault in the face of all common sense...

Normally, the raputitsa is a little later in the year. This is early or the equivalent of a short term thaw which is causing a bog down.

If we start seeing serious and wide spread rain, the Russian armour forces will be in trouble and strictly restricted to paved roadways. That would make them very vulnerable.

MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. Russia’s defense ministry reports losses among Russian servicemen taking part in the special military operation in Ukraine, the ministry’s spokesman, Igor Konashenkov said on Sunday.

"Russian servicemen are showing courage and heroism during the special military operation. But, regrettably, there are killed and wounded among them," he said, adding that Russia’s losses are by far lesser than "losses among Ukrainian troops" and nationalists.

He also said that several Russian soldiers have been taken prisoner. "We know how Ukrainian Nazis are treating those few Russian servicemen who have been taken prisoner. We see that they use the same tortures as German Nazis during the Great Patriotic War (the Eastern Front during WWII where the former Soviet Union fought against Nazi Germany - TASS)," he said.

He vowed that the Russian military will continue to treat surrendering Ukrainian troops in a humane way. "We understand that they took an oath to the people of Ukraine. All those surrendering arms and stopping resistance will be released to their families," he stressed.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a televised address on Thursday morning that in response to a request by the heads of the Donbass republics he had made a decision to carry out a special military operation in order to protect people "who have been suffering from abuse and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years." The Russian leader stressed that Moscow had no plans of occupying Ukrainian territories.

When clarifying the unfolding developments, the Russian Defense Ministry reassured that Russian troops are not targeting Ukrainian cities, but are limited to surgically striking and incapacitating Ukrainian military infrastructure. There are no threats whatsoever to the civilian population.

MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. Since the beginning of the special miliary operation in Ukraine the Russian forces have wiped out more than one thousand military facilities, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov told the media on Sunday.

"Russia’s armed forces since the beginning of the special military operation have hit 1,067 military facilities in Ukraine," he said.

Specifically, he mentioned 27 command and communication centers, 38 air defense systems: S-300, Buk M-1 and Osa, and also 56 radars.

"On Sunday alone, seven air defense systems, including one S-300 near Kramatorsk were destroyed. Three Bayraktar TB-2 drones were shot down in the suburbs of Chernigov," Konashenkov said.

Since the beginning of the operation Ukraine has lost 254 tanks and other armored vehicles, 31 planes on the ground, 46 multiple rocket launchers, 103 field artillery pieces and mortars and 164 special military vehicles.

MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. Troops of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) have successfully advanced four more kilometers into the enemy’s defense, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Knashenkov said on Sunday.

"Troops of the Lugansk People’s Republic backed by supporting fire of the Russian armed forces have advance to a distance of four more kilometers into the enemy defense. Troops of the Donetsk People’s Republic have overcome the resistance of nationalist units and advanced six more kilometers. The settlements of Nizhneye, Granitnoye, and Gnutivo have been liberated," he said.

According to Konashenkov, Russia’s forces have hit 1,607 Ukrainian military infrastructure facilities since the beginning of the special military operation on February 24.

You are! You wrote: "Interesting to see what would happen if..." I'm not projecting. I am only pointing out what you had just wrote. You have consistently speculate about some kind of China-Russia split in this forum. Its not hard to see what kinda agenda you are trying to promote here!
Which is dumb pooping stupid. Why bother doing the misinformation and disinformation campaign here when it's not going to do jack squat because it isn't like we work for the CPC or some shit to be able to influence the Russia-Sino relationship dynamic. I am of the assumption that some of our fellow posters here are just expressing their frustrations, annoyances with how the situation has unfolded because most of us assumed that Russia invading Ukraine wasn't in the cards despite the show of force.
