Even if Russia wins this war, the sanctions will remain, and any country that do significant business with Russia or help it evade sanctions will also be sanctioned. This clearly complicates China’s own plans.
You think it's China's first time with sanction evasion?

The sanctions will apply to entities engaged in US-dollar denominated trade because that's all US jurisdiction can control. You can bypass the sanctions by creating new banks that have zero exposure to US financial system, for example, Bank of Kunlun exclusive does Iranian trade in yuan-denominated or euro-denominated oil purchases, despite significant American sanctions on Bank of Kunlun. The US can sanction the living shit out Bank of Kunlun, but this bank doesn't have any exposure to US financial system, it's dedicated to China-Iran trade, so who cares? There is also centuries old bartering which is invincible to external sanctions as well.

If Putin was willing to risk all these sanctions and Russian men and materiel, he might as well have signed a mutual defense treaty with Iran, as well. At least, he could have sold some Su-35s and S-350s!
