But that's not what he wanted or was supposed to accomplish. He was supposed to unite Americans under a more muscular hardline stance against China and lead them to a trade war victory that would capitulate the Chinese, reversing the trend of China growing faster than the US. Instead, he failed all of that, dividing the US in bitter hatred, led it to lose a trade war that it enthusiastically started, mismanaged the biological disaster of the century in unimaginable proportions, and went to plan B, which is to become king of the idiots. Is it impressive to be the king of the idiots? In some ways, but it is at best a consolation prize after he absolutely failed at being a successful American leader.

Trump is a con man but his narcissism and hubris made himself a moron in front of the world.

MAGA was just his sales pitch.

Like any salesman, Trump's actual goals were personal wealth and fame. Fame before wealth even.
