You can believe whatever you want.

I personally believe in my personal experiences. "No shortages. Anti-Soviet myth" isnt what I remember

Next time you spread your propaganda do it to people who haven't experienced the "great" Soviet Union. Ask anyone else who had also lived in the SU and he will tell you the same thing. Thank God the SU collapsed.

Hopefully no other country on earth will try to use the same failed system

Not saying you're Russian but the majority of Russians disagree.

It must feel good sitting behind a keyboard and preaching about how great and how good the Soviet Union was.
But tell them to do forced labour work to get some food in the table while the "Elites" are partying and they will soon change their minds

While the common people were rotting away, the "Elites" were having the time of their lives. While sitting in lavish chairs, luxurious houses they were talking about how good the Soviet Union was when families were starving and sent to do hard labour and get some food in return

What a great country, what a great system. These "brainwashed" people who believe in SU's greatness must be a product by the schools in China. You should ask your parents and grandparents to know how great communism was.

For the rest of us who lived in the SU or we had close friends and relatives there, we are good. We stay as far away from Soviet-style communism as possible.

I dare you to take a trip to Eastern Europe and tell them about how great Soviet Union was and how you wished for their communism to return back. If anyone old was nearby, he would beat you so hard you would be crying for your mommy.

This is why the whole Eastern Europe is so much against Russia. Tell them about communism and watch as their blood pressure rises dramatically lol

The seems to be your personal opinion on the matter and does not match what polling in the former USSR and some Warsaw Pact countries indicates. Furthermore, your description of common people working while elites live decadently applies to the west throughout its entire history. And Eastern Europe's Russophobia has nothing to do with communism given that the Russian Federation is not a communist country.

A lot of people in Eastern Europe did not like Soviet occupation and dismiss anything Soviet as a result.

In East Germany people's lives got markedly worse after the collapse regardless of how happy they were for German reunification when it happened. There was mass plundering of State resources and unemployment. Most industry collapsed. As a result you see a lot of people supporting fringe political movements including Neo Nazi elements. I doubt most East Germans would trade out national reunification as a goal despite the hardship they had to suffer afterwards. Higher principles at stake. This also applies to other countries in the former Warsaw Pact. But most countries, with only a couple exceptions, were economically far worse off out of it.

American soldiers have mistakenly revealed the exact locations of US nuclear weapons in Europe by uploading details as part of revision exercises that were publicly available to view, a report claims.

alleges that soldiers attempting to learn intricate security protocols uploaded a multitude of sensitive information to the internet, including not only the bases at which the weapons are held, but in which exact vaults they are stored.

Questions and answers were written on flashcards, which have now disappeared, and appeared to show the positions of cameras, the frequency of patrols around the vaults, secret duress words that signal when a guard is being threatened and the unique identifiers that a restricted area badge needs to have,

The cards had been uploaded as long ago as 2013 on websites including Cram, Quizlet and Chegg, and accessed as recently as April this year. Some of those sites have the visibility of the cards set to be viewed by anyone by default.

there's only one poll that matters: the election. the Russian communist Party is still around, they've been in every election since the collapse of the Soviet Union, if the Russians really miss them so much as you claimed, they can vote the communist back to office.

Eastern Europe was very poor before communism, like an African style third world lifestyle. Communism gave them infrastructure and industry and a decent standard of living. But people have short memories and although famines and other basic needs were no longer a problem, the quality of life was less than in the West.

By that definition, a "free market" can only exist as an abstraction. There are no examples of a completely free market with no rules and regulations anywhere in the world.

Since that's not a very useful concept, the free market I'm referring to is one where the market plays the major role in setting prices, subject to certain restrictions.

I guess it's fairer to say if a country's economy is more free market or less free market because by the absolute definition here, there would be no free markets in the world.

I know I'm being pedantic. But as an economics lecturer. This point, although small is a very important point.

Often I've students in my class come to my class with pre-conceived ideas about the virtues of the free markets. Then I've to let him down gently by asking if he thinks free markets exist and its real, and great. Then shouldn't the armed forces be provided by the free market? Police force? Fire brigade? Health and education? Should I go on?

It's like the bank collapse in 2008, private free market earns the money, but when it goes wrong, it's the socialist money that bails them out!

USA is light years away from Pure Free Market, with so much sanctions, tariffs, bans, spying own citizens... it is in rang with North Korea...

Exactly when I get a cocky students starting to tell the class how "free" the U.S. economy is (it probably not his fault, after years of propaganda from the MSM on how "free and virtuous" the U.S. economy is).

I then produce the chart below and burst his bubble, the job satisfaction i get from doing that sometimes amazes even me. Lol
