Good that the US finally would loan its AstraZeneca vaccines to Mexico and Canada.

Don't think the EU has any other alternatives other than keep using AstraZeneca.

Why does France and Germany, both technologically advanced countries, have to rely on someone else instead of developing their own? Same can be said of Japan and South Korea.

French pharmaceutical giants Sanofi's covid vaccine failed in its phase 1 clinical trial so not sure what it going to do next. German BioNtech partnered with Pfizer. Therefore, the so called Pfizer vaccine is actually developed by BioNtech. German CureVac's vaccine was delayed but should finish its phase 3 trial within 1-3 months.

As for SK and Japan, SK's inovio's vaccine result in phase 1 isn't so good and there are delays so not sure when it would complete its phase 2-3 trial. Japan's Tadeka and AnGes have 3 vaccines in development but all have been very slow and results are not that good. It would take sometime before Japanese vaccines move to the next phase.

Local news reports 1.5 millions dose of Sinovac vaccine will arrive in Cambodia on Mar 26, 2021.
WOW!!! @SteelBird , I envied your gov't action, here we are still debating about the efficacy of Sinovac vaccine instead of ordering more, the opposition is delaying gov't vaccination program with false reporting and fake news. It shows how pathetic this people are. And I learned from my doctor that most of them had been secretly inoculated with a Chinese vaccine since last year.

That's Philippine politics for you bro lol..all of those lemmings are just trying to cause damage to Duterte in hopes that some of their antics and unfortunate deaths because of purposeful delays will dampen the strong enthusiasm and support for whomever the soon outgoing President maybe supporting. That is if his daughter doesn't choose to run to succeed her father as the next President.

Philippines politics has been a cesspool of American interference with the acquiescence of the business and political elites since the country gained it's so called independence post WWII. I don't count that turn coat, Emilio Aguinaldo's grand standing and delusional proclamation as your country's "Independence" because the Philippines was just transferred from Spain to the U.S. for a cool $20-25 million.

In fact, the Chinese Embassy announced sometime ago that the second batch of 400,000 doses of Sinopharm will arrive before Khmer new year (14 April) amid the current outbreak in Cambodia. Our company has setup an inoculation program for all staff to take Sinopharm vaccine once it arrives. I didn't expect that Sinovac would come even earlier than that.

The government also announced that they have plan to procure J&J vaccine. I don't know when or if it will ever happen!

Bro you said it so true, trying to destroy the popularity of a seating President at the expense of risking peoples lives. Bro Duterte recent announcement of possible US nuclear storage here silence the opposition on his China policy. And the donation of Chinese vaccine vindicated his decision, they have no more bricks to throw at him except for his handling of the pandemic.

Bro FYI Aguinaldo is a Hua Qiao (Filipino Chinese) and so is Bonifacio our revolutionary hero, one is a landed elite the other is a peasant (he was killed under order by Aguinaldo) . So if you look at the politics at that time both Mestizo landed elites (Chinese and Spanish) switch side and become a willing collaborator when their economic fortune is being threaten. So to forced them to change ,we need to open up the economy but there are major push back with the US a willing participant.

There are a couple more mRNA vaccines from China soon. Where do they find volunteers for the trials?

For phase 1 or even phase 2 clinical trial, China could host it domestically. For phase 3, many countries actually want to be a host due to the promise of getting the vaccines early and at a discount. Many countries even funded the phase 3 clinical trial so don' think there are problem of finding volunteers.
