Due to the fact that Zhifei vaccine requires 3 doses, the demand for this particular vaccine is uncertain even though it probably has a pretty good efficacy rate. CanSino on the other hand has some advantages as only need 1 shot. Although CanSino efficacy rate is lower than other vaccines but the ability to produce 500 millions doses to vaccinate 500 millions people are a great advantage.

Have any of these Chinese vaccines received formal approval from the WTO yet? They need approval before they can establish reciprocal vaccine passports recognition with other countries.

EU already said they will only accept passports from vaccines evaluated from their regulatory body. didn't see anything regarding WHO being automatically accepted.

However I heard that Sinovac could be approved in a month or so by the WHO

Both Sinopharm and Sinovac should get their approval from the WHO within this month. I don't think it is an issue for China with most SEA, African or South American nations to establish reciprocal vaccine passports recognition. The issue is EU and the US. EU just doesn't want their members buying Chinese and Russian vaccines without EUA approval. Russia has submitted its sputnik for evaluation but the Chinese vaccines companies are just not interested at the moment.

It would be a headache for the Chinese vaccines to get submitted. Can you imagine the daily propaganda and "leaks" regarding their data, it will be damn tiring.

Although I heard a theory that China focuses on sending vaccines to some specific european countries so that they they vaccinate and then open first so that they can embarrass the EU and score a diplomatic win. And then they would submit their data so these countries wont get disadvantaged due to not have an approved vaccine

Not sure how they come up with 563 million doses. 100 million doses each from Sinovac, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca and 38 million doses from J&J and then Covax. But it is still no where near 563 million doses. Anyway, Pfizer is too little and too late for Brazil(1 million in April, 2.5m in May, and 10m in both June and July and the rest in Aug and Sept. J&J would be shipped half in 3rd quarter and half in the end of the year.

I'm hoping there is a break for the BBIBP-CorV vaccine in Poland and Czech Republic. Right now, it seems Sinopharm-Beijing is basically considered a tier-one vaccine (with Astra-Zeneca and Sputnik V, if not at the same level as Pfizer/Moderna). All the western MSM shitting is now on Sinovac (not even Cansino). Much of BBIBP-Corv's ascendancy might also be the fall from grace of AZ vaccine, and people realize Sputnik V might not be able to be produced in reasonable numbers even though its certainly effective. TBH, the diplomatic win isn't as important as the scientific win, China needs to lay the groundwork of efficient distribution of its future medicines. China needs to step up and be prepared to test and roll out its HIV vaccine by 2022-2023.

Millions of europeans vaccinated with Sinopharm could also make it easier for chinese to travel in europe, since the EU is not stupid to deny vaccine passport to its own citizens.

I wouldn't hold my breath on your last point. The EU is absolutely stupid, their vaccine procurement and rollout was a total failure and because these bureaucrats never recognise their faults and apologise they will tear apart anyone entering the EU without approved vaccines.

And because i am following a little of EU politics you can never underestimate their idiocy and, like they are projecting into the Chinese, they hate losing "face" so get ready for hard core stupid stuff such as "we dont know if these vaccines are safe", "but what if someone dies?" "Should we prioritise Chinese vaccines over our safety".
The only way they allow Chinese vaccines is if the tourist EU countries cry enough for losing Chinese tourists' money...
