Welcome to the 'Venice' in China.
A replica of Venice in Dalian complete with gondolier and canals.
A gondolier in traditional Venetian costume offers tourists in the port city of Dalian a taste of Venice – without the hassle of travelling to Italy on October 16, 2015. The copycat version of Venice will be fully opened to the public in Dalian, Northeast China’s Liaoning province in May of 2016. The ambitious construction project, dubbed the “Oriental Venice”, mimics the famous Italian city and its tourist attractions. The mini-sized “city of water”, which covers area of 400,000 square meters, cost five billion yuan ($790.15 million) to build. It was constructed by the Chinese theme park operator Haichang Holdings to boost tourism in Dalian.

Scenery at Altun Mountains Nature Reserve in Xinjiang
Altun Mountains Nature Reserve in Ruoqiang County, Xinjiang.
The reserve covers 45,000 square kilometers and has an average altitude of 4,500 meters. It is home to a wide variety of rare and endangered animals, including wild donkeys, antelopes, wild yaks, snow leopards and so on. In addition, the reserve is the first specialized reserve for plateau desert ecosystem in the world.

A 20-meter-tall knockoff of Eiffel Tower is seen in Haikou, South China’s Hainan province on October 19, 2015. The scale replica is decorated with contour lighting and built as a landscape architecture for the city.
