Nope, they want to force the rest of world to use their closed models ... no rando can inference a 3T model, only big inference providers. US can force them to remove Chinese open weights by way of sanctions and Nvidia chokehold etc

Same playbook they deployed against Huawei back in 2019 when fat Pompous was going around accusing Chinese 5g gear as having backdoors and preaching to the world about "clean and secure" Western networks for democracy and freedom

Well Huawei is still the world's largest telecom equipment OEM, so that didn't work out too well.
US will have to convince every country to enforce a ban on their people using Chinese inference providers, I suspect countries like Russia or Iran who's most interested in cyberattacking US won't care about Americans banning them from attacking America.

US wants a lot of things, they're also really, really stupid.

during spiralling youth-led protests in Delhi, after he called for prime minister Narendra Modi’s resignation.

Gandhi, the leader of India’s Congress party, said on Tuesday that Modi must resign “for destroying the future of India’s youth”, before staging a sit-in outside the prime minister’s residence.

“The government doesn’t want to take any accountability, nor does it want to have a debate on it in parliament,” said Gandhi on Tuesday. Footage showed police holding the opposition leader by both arms and legs as they pushed through large crowds and into a nearby bus and removed from the area.

Gandhi’s detention came as the Indian capital was rocked by a second day of demonstrations, mobilised by a new youth-led political movement that calls itself the Cockroach Janta party (CJP), which has demanded changes to the country’s education system and the resignation of the education minister after repeated testing scandals.
