A thread on Alloy work - Crystal work learned from Russia for AL 31FF , but that knowledge never transferred when working on their own Kaveri Engine, it ran as if AL-31FP didnt exist.
Seems more like India isn't capable of knowledge transfer within itself rather than a failure of ToT from vendors in certain aspects. I'm gonna go on a limb here and say that some of that failure to transfer knowledge within India is sabotage as getting kickbacks and trips to import engines and spares is more atractive within certain groups.

Have read the same from many indians calling this out too , calling them 'import babus' , but there are others who also say another reason is pride (they dont need others they can start from 0 on their own and make it not rely on transferred knowledge) and another is prestige, Some old 'boomer babus' that give more weight to western stuff from coffee makers to jets.

You don't have to go as far as India to encounter that tbh.

Rare moment of relative calm clarity for this bloke. Mostly correct too.
I saw recently a clip going around of some ex US official saying essentially 'US isnt gonna help india become another china and will contain it' and he said this in india too.
India pinned its hopes n dreams onto the US just when US was going through its decline and being the 'crazy emperor'

Some sort of Naval radar named UNICORN .. sigh japan couldnt help it huh...
Unicorn...GUNDAM!!
Social, cultural, religious, and tourism exchanges between India and Japan has always been there, millions of Japanese pilgrims visit Buddhist sites in India, and the two countries share deep historical connections. However, these ties have not translated into military cooperation on the same scale as India and Russia. reason is that Japan does not have the same degree of independence in its foreign policy as Russia. As a close U.S. ally under its post-war security arrangement, Japan's strategic choices are closely aligned with the United States, which limits the extent to which India-Japan military ties can develop independently.
