Kimi 2.7 Code is now out and I can already use it on my VS Code plugin. Looks like quite improved, but it does admit to being behind GPT-5.5 and Opus-4.8 in most benchmarks
They're flexing by only benching against Opus 4.8 xHigh lol
I mean I'd like to see someone use Opus 4.8 xHigh exclusively as default daily driver for everything from coding to git commits to play around with ideas like there's no limit and see how long their wallet last.

Well this is what Bindu says here. I honestly don't know what people are using coding agents for because for the stuff I'm doing, Kimi does 100%.

Like, I'm setting a python GUI and I have idea of the library I'm using, so I just told kimi to write it and it figured out everything with no problem.

Kimi does 100%, anyone who think you need Claude is either going by vibes or not paying the bill or don't do any real production level coding or all three.

I know a large number of non technical people who use Sonnet and think they're using the best AI because it's all called Claude.
