Well, good question. DRDO says it is 6th Gen then it is 6th Gen. Can't argue with them. Here is a clearer picture released by DRDO.

What do they mean by saying it's "AI-based"? Do they mean LLMs and machine learning? If Chatbots didn't occupy the zeitgeist, would they call it "AI"? This isn't a shot at these guys specifically, but a lot of new equipment these days references AI without specification.

This is airframe structural testing. It involves mounting the airframe on a test rig, igniting the engine at full thrust, and analyzing whether the structure can withstand the extreme loads and pressures. This ground testing is conducted before clearing the aircraft for its first flight.

Normally, the dedicated ground test structure (static test article) is not flown a separate, flight-worthy airframe is built for actual flights. However, Turkey flew the structure originally intended for ground testing on the KAAN program.

The entire aircraft is suspended in mid-air using a support structure during the RCS test, so it is definitely not an RCS testing facility. Any RCS or wind tunnel testing would likely have taken place much earlier, during the initial stages of the aircraft's design and development.
