Safety is the most important thing for a car. I am not satisfied with Xiaomi cars, especially since their customers are mainly young people, who don't know how to control the car, push too many adrenaline elements, without good hardware and software safety controls, which cause many incidents. Hope they will do better in future cars. That is the reason why they have so many haters; over-marketing with too many incidents causes reputation damage.
Why is it Xiaomis fault chinese people are bad drivers. If you need software not to crash your car, go ride a bus.

Using your logic, Tesla should already be bankrupt today, since compared to Xiaomi , they have far more haters globally than Xiaomi can even ever imagine . lol in fact what Xiaomi is facing is nothing compared to what Tesla has been facing for years, yet they still have a loyal fan base and they are still the worlds largest EV maker(retook that again from BYD after losing it for a few months. lol ), that’s despite their cars selling at higher price than their competitors and despite not having as many different brands and many upgraded/new models unlike others. Yet they still remain competitive (even in China, model Y was even the top seller last month I believe).

So Xiaomi is doing just fine, for a company barely 2 years old their success is actually unprecedented and they are still growing their sales/scale. So I don’t buy your worry that much, I’m actually more optimistic about Xiaomi than even many other Chinese EV companies to be honest.

You have to understand that in life when you grow bigger and popular , there will also be things others wouldn’t like about you(and obviously you will attract more attention to your flaws) ,it’s a normal process of growth . Can’t think of any popular /global brand/company in the world that doesn’t have haters or things people don’t like about them. Name me one such company and I will accept you have won . lol
Do you know how many haters Apple has? lol. Yet won’t you agree nobody has come close to dethroning them even after all these years? Even in China they still outcompete others at the top despite their higher price , ever asked yourself why/how?

Agree , for some people to call them a “gimmick company relying on their CEO’s flamboyant/idol personality “ is exaggerated. Xiaomi does make great products and their electric cars are great, especially for a company that entered the EV car scene just 2 years ago. It’s actually crazy they are able to outcompete and outsell many Chinese brands with a longer history/experience . So I will say they should be an inspiration not mockery. The fact that they have inspired as much devotion to their brand as apple should be testament to their success , very very few(I can’t even think of more than 3 . lol) Chinese companies have been able to cultivate such devotion among their consumers(US companies are more successful in this regard). So I rate them higher than most other Chinese brands actually , and they actually also get the value of marketing and brand value/exposure, not relying only a product quality and price to compete but also on brand value/marketing and exclusivity .
not exaggerated if you read chinese news. Look at their "3nm" CPU, they don't even dare to use it on their phones.

Stop wasting your time on senseless gossip. I’m just casually scrolling through a few BYD videos on Bilibili right now, and in the comments section, there are always a few users—whether by profile picture or username—constantly bashing Xiaomi as “trash” or calling its CEO a “con artist,” with a monkey-shaped badge hanging from their signature. Not to mention the countless accounts specifically created to bash Xiaomi. Just like after that highway livestream, many trending topics turned into idiotic reports questioning whether the destination of the Xiaomi crowd was a consumer rights protest, or speculating that Xiaomi’s drive from Beijing to Shanghai was downhill to save battery power. The Chinese electric vehicle market is in a state of utter chaos. Never mind Xiaomi’s current situation—from Tesla’s early issues with brake failures and spontaneous combustion, to BYD’s rusting and catching fire, to Li Auto owners’ poor conduct, and now Xiaomi facing this public backlash—after all this, you should have shut down these trash media outlets long ago and focused solely on the products themselves.

My last post on this topic. I don't read gossip. I read actual news. My impression is Xiao Mi is personal cult.
