New reporting from NYT reveals how Trump decided to go to war with Iran — after a closed-door Israeli pitch and despite deep internal divisions inside his own team.

At a secret Feb. 11 Situation Room meeting, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented a four-part pitch for regime change, including a video montage of potential replacement leaders such as Reza Pahlavi.

JD Vance was absent, stuck in Azerbaijan.

Appearing alongside Mossad chief David Barnea and military officials, Netanyahu argued: Iran’s ballistic missile program could be destroyed in weeks.

The regime would be too weak to close the Strait of Hormuz.

Street protests — fomented with Mossad help — could trigger an uprising.

Kurdish fighters from Iraq could open a ground front in the northwest.

Trump’s response: “Sounds good to me.”

I do not understand why people still cannot see that with a leader like Trump, you simply cannot mechanically remain a real superpower anymore, especially not the strongest one.

When the person at the top is that stupid, almost everything the country does ends up rapidly hurting itself more than it accomplishes anything.

any idea what this is? a nuke?
Would hazard a guess that it's an engine rather than a munition (note the poster hasn't witnessed it firsthand so I think it's possible whoever did might have played fast and loose with their description of this being "loaded on" a bomber).

B-52s seem to have only test-dropped MOPs and there's probably not enough of them to proliferate their use beyond the B-2s. Meanwhile, the MOABs are dropped from the back of C-130s, and this looks too big to be one of the 5,000lb class bombs.

It does look like an engine stripped for transport, I was thinking it was a TF-33 but the F101 of the B-1 seems a safer bet?

Looks to me like a B-52 engine.
