The war itself has last for 5 weeks. Any news about Iranian draft and mobilisation process preparation for ground warfare? I heard Iran have volunteers over 7 millions of it's citizens.
And what about light weapons stockpiles like assault rifles and RPG can Iran provides for millions of troops?
I don’t think there is any way to know about Irans current stockpile’s given all the ammo depots hit, I’m certain it’s quite a bit but not sure if they have enough for millions but I’m sure they do but for how long is the real question I would say

Shilao's own take on this:

His view is this wave of firing makes the story from Washington Post more likely - that'll be the one were they plan to land spec ops, build a runway, then land excavating equipment to dig out the uranium and then transport it away.

The plan would have been discussed, sensible people in the Pentagon think it's a stupid plan and don't want anything to do with it, so they start leaking it to the media to show that some in the military also think it's a dumb idea. And now Hegseth is firing anyone he thinks isn't onboard with the plan.

I'm curious if you guys think with today's JSOC, could Operation Eagle Claw be successfully carried out today?

They discussed this on Chahuahui too. The best historical comparison is something like Cactus Air Force during Guadalcanal campaign where they operated fighters from Henderson Field while getting attacked by the Japanese by both land and by naval bombardment on the regular. But with Henderson Airfield they took over a nearly completed air field from the Japanese, then Marine 1st Engineer Battalion spent 6 days working around the clock using material and equipment left by the Japanese to complete the airfield sufficiently to base fighters.

If you have to do this in the middle of Iran, air lifting in either rapid-set concrete or sheet plates yourself then it's scary to just think about the amount of logistic involved and how many things can go wrong. And that's before you get to the Tomb Raider-isk half of the operation.

82nd Airborne Division cancels All American Week amid Iran war deployments

An annual event honoring service members and veteran paratroopers at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, has been cancelled after Pentagon officials confirmed that troops from the base are deploying to the Middle East.

All American Week is hosted every year at Fort Bragg, North Carolina — home to the 82nd Airborne Division. This year’s event, scheduled from May 18 to 21, has been cancelled, Army officials confirmed.

The event was “canceled due to competing requirements,” Maj. Joe Bush, a spokesperson for the 82nd Airborne Division, said in a statement to Task & Purpose. “All American Week will resume in 2027.”

The All American Week’s cancellation comes amid reports that nearly 1,000 paratroopers with the 82nd Airborne Division received deployment orders to the Middle East amid the ongoing war with Iran.

“We can confirm elements of the 82nd Airborne Division HQs, some division enablers and the 1st [Brigade Combat Team] will be deploying to [U.S. Central Command’s Area of Responsibility],” a Department of Defense official confirmed to Task & Purpose on March 25. “Due to operations security we have nothing additional to provide at this time.”

Cancels an annual event 7 weeks away for a war that orange man promises will end in 2-3 weeks.

The other thing is that the closest major Japanese base, at Rabaul was about 1000 km away so they had significant logistics problems trying to get forces there. Iran on the other hand would already have significant forces close by and easily be supplied.
