The is rather bizarre:
1. There's no "New Regime President" in Tehran, Masoud Pezeshkian has been the president of Iran since the summer of 2024.
2. Trump was declaring his intent to cease hostilities against Iran within 2-3 weeks — just yesterday — without reopening the Strait of Hormuz under the expectation that allies like France would have to "fend for themselves."
This is on top of some of the most hawkish, pro-war influences circling Trump turning dovish the past several days:
There's Lindsey Graham of all people telling Trump: "Keep it up Mr President. Wind down the war and wind up efforts for an historic peace deal."
Then there's the write-up titled "" dated March 26 which stated:
There's the possibility that Trump and the buffoons around him have finally come to recognize the limits of American military power, but that would be out of character.
