You forget that the name of SK does not have the word south, adding it is an insult. Those south Koreans who say they don't mind is just saying so to save face.
China in Janpanese language is written as 中国 and pronounced as Chugoku. You made a mistake by saying "from Chugoku to China" because Chugoku is NOT a word by itself but merely the pronounciation in latin letters, therefor nothing to change from. China is English word, NOT Japanese word, therefor impossible for Japan to Change to. The only Japanese word for China is 中国. This is in use for thousands years in Japan. Anything different from it is delibrate insult.
