I wouldn’t say that. It’s just testing aerodynamics and flight controls. A lot of critical stuff like radar, weapons, and RAM are not applied.
So that bird is actually real?! Is it a subscale model or a piloted article? One can imagine all kinds of possibilities, like a friendly country commissioning such a school/private design team to design/build for them a 6th gen combat aircraft. But probably we're straying too much from the J-36 subject.
