$30 per ounce discount when gold is above $5000 per ounce really isn’t anything remotely noteworthy. Would any of you even be rushing to stock up on anything from your local corner shop just because it is offering a whopping 0.6% discount?
That’s barely noticeable in terms of just normal daily price fluctuations on gold, and you have actual war risk and massively increased transportation costs of trying to get that gold out. Nobody outside of Dubai is going to do anything other than laugh at this ‘big’ discount. This is a promotion to cash in on locals seeking to convert wealth into portable hard currency as they seek to flee the place with as much wealth intact as possible.
