The CIA is working to arm Kurdish forces with the aim of fomenting a popular uprising in Iran, multiple people familiar with the plan told CNN. The Trump administration has been in active discussions with Iranian opposition groups and Kurdish leaders in Iraq about providing them with military support, the sources said.

Also on Tuesday, President Donald Trump spoke with the president of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (KDPI), Mustafa Hijri, according to a senior Iranian Kurdish official. KDPI was one of the groups targeted by the IRGC.

Iranian Kurdish opposition forces are expected to take part in a ground operation in Western Iran, in the coming days, the senior Iranian Kurdish official told CNN. "We believe we have a big chance now," the source said, explaining the timing of the operation. The source added the militias expect US and Israeli support.

Heron TP (Eitan), armed Israeli drone shot down over Khuzestan (southern border with Iraq). Subsystems seem intact.

Eliminating the northern array of the FPS-132 is also good news for Russia and China.

There is a reason that Yankeesama calls them dumb tanks.

In other news…

@grok is this true???

I mean if it is then the whole fiasco is really shaping up to be Trump’s special military operation.

If it is true that they even fired at something 650km away not to mention hitting it then I'm again amazed. Someone mentioned to me Iran does have recon satellites, however the space assets they have is no where near enough to achieve real time monitoring and tracking in the region.

Not going to comment on the strike, but I think it's a given at this point that Iran is receiving very good and up to date intel from some powerful countries with a lot of beef with the US.

I think one thing to consider is Iran must have a way to perform damage assessment to determine if a target need to be hit again, and considering AN/FPS-132 complex is in the middle of the desert within a fortified facility, they're either have HUMINT getting pretty close (relatively), or they're receiving immediate satellite intel from third party. It's also worth considering Iran is supposedly under distributed command, so how up to date targeting and damage assessment data are being disseminated is an interesting question, both for this strike and for strike on hotels housing US personnel.

This is unironically big if true. People were doubting if Iran can close 30km of waterway. If instead they prove they can reach out and hit a pair of ships 650km out that's a game changer. So far signs are pointing to a lot of validty to the claim. If either of those ships are sunk it's a sinking of Moskva level event.
