The longer Khamenei doesn't show in public, the more likely he is actually dead. Iran is not really doing anything meaningful to counter the narrative that Khamenei is dead. Even showing a pre recorded video message of him can raise doubts and helping buttress the notion he is still alive and in command somewhere for his supporters.

Iranian media and officials are saying he is alive, Honestly its a win-win either way, Khamenei alive is bad for trump.
Khamenei dead means IRGC takes over probably and they are hardliners (unless US/israel somehow buy them off)
