You let your soil be used as launch point for attack on a country, those bases become a target
You let US and Israeli personnel operate out of your country in this war, they become targets for elimination.

Japan and Korea should remember this well.

The attacks are very modest, so I think they are warning shots, the Shahed can obviously attack the burj khalifa but didn't and hit something on the side. They are telling other countries to keep stay out of the war or to pressure US/Israel to stop.

If it works or drag the Arab states to "partition" Iran remains to be seen

It's the zombie version of the 2003 Malacca Dilemma trope (coined by Hu Jintao). Hawks, realists, and armchair strategists have been recycling the line for 20+ years. A lot of people on X especially in realist/MAGA circles never updated the meme. It feels intuitively true so it spreads as comforting conventional wisdom.
