What's impressive is how fast Iranian retaliation came . You get the feeling they were prepared and are in it to win.

This was the most telegraphed and drawn out ‘surprise’ attack in history. If the Iranians were not preparing for it this whole time it was building up, they are utter morons that deserve to be conquered by the Israelis and Americans.

It’s the Americans who have somehow managed to surprise attack Iran while their own pants were down it seems.

I would say Iranian response was basically what one would expect, it’s the American sneak attack and basic base security that’s somehow utterly underwhelming. But then Iran has cut internal internet, so it’s hard to gauge how effective the American-Israeli alpha strike truly was.

But I would suggest that the extent to which America seemed to have underperformed leaves open the possibility that at least some of the Iranian hits were allowed through, that America has already stripped bare and evacuated its forward bases and let Iran hit them in the hopes those strikes would enrage the host nations enough that they join America’s war against Iran to build a coalition arse backwards. It’s a slim hope that is incredibly unlikely to bare fruit, but it’s hard to think of any other reasons America’s opening showing could be so pathetically sub-par.

The more outlandish possibility is that Iran made a real key concession (reducing refined nuclear material to zero) that might have been enough for Trump, so the Israelis attacked before Trump could accept the offer and that’s why the Americans are scrambling so badly and being reactive when they should have been proactive.

Trump will let a few days of this mess pass, then declare an “EPIC VICTORY” in all caps again and move on.

Iran will likely comply in some way, optically, and close the issue since they are far more reasonable and mentally sound.

So, anyone who keeps searching for some deep U.S. master strategy behind every move is also dumb.

Most of it is optics, short-term politics, or mental illness, low IQ, of the ruling elites, not some grand design.

I smell this is how it would end again, haha.

To be honest, both sides seemed a bit anticlimactic on the first day.

Israel did the most work. The US amassed so many fighter jets, just to launch a bunch of Tomahawks. Iran also fired some older Fateh-1s and then stopped.

Both sides just waiting for nightfall?

Wondering the same, where are the air strikes from US carriers? Maybe Iran does have credible A2AD after all?

BREAKING: Source in Qatar’s Defense Ministry to Al Jazeera:

An early warning radar in northern Qatar was targeted by Iranian missiles.

No injuries reported from the targeting of the early warning radar, and material damage is being assessed.

With this performance how they are going to defend their own bases in japan and phillipines. We already seeing cheap iranian drones bypassing american defence system. Idk what will chinese missile will do to these people.

Without BDA, the strikes are kinda meaningless. Iran has perfectly good Intel on US aircraft concentration from Chinese sats. A concentrated barrage on the Israeli airport hosting dozens of F-22s would've been a unprecedented loss of prestige for the US, striking random gulf state installations is not really going to achieve much for Iran.

Iran in possession of weapons never seen before by America? The same America that have been watching China fly hundreds of various hypersonic craft/missiles? hmmmm some people sure know how to bluff and talk big. I suppose it's needed in a war situation where you do want to deter the enemy where possible. Iran has shown that decent ballistic missiles with even suboptimal guidance capabilities are somewhat dangerous and not all that easy to intercept.
